Mensaje: What could be the cause of intermittent wifi connection despite high speed and ethernet cable?
I have been experiencing random wifi dropouts for about 18 months, regardless of the time of day or the number of devices connected. I have an ARRIS Surfboard SBG10 router that supports 13 devices, including smart TVs, phones, home security, Alexa, PS5, and a laptop. My wifi speed is usually around 235 Mbps (download) and 12 Mbps (upload), and it goes up to 523 Mbps (download) and 23 Mbps (upload) when I use an ethernet cable for my PS5. However, even with the cable, I still get disconnected from online games and parties frequently. I have tried changing router settings and disconnecting some devices, but nothing seems to work. The problem started a few months after I got Alexa last year. I am not very tech-savvy, but I am willing to learn. Could you please help me figure out what is causing this issue and how to fix it?
Edit 1: I found out that the wireless printer near the router was interfering with the wifi signal. I turned it off and the wifi connection improved significantly. I am not sure if this is the only reason, but it seems to work for now. Thank you for your responses.
